To take a screenshot in Windows 10 or 11, there are a few ways. These ways include:
- Pressing the "Print Screen" button
- Using Windows+Shift+S
Method 1: Using the Print Screen button
The Print Screen button will take a screenshot of your entire computer screen.
- Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. It may be spelled as "PrtSc", and you may have to press the "Fn" key to access it.
- You can now paste the screenshot into a document. To save it to a file, open Paint, then paste the screenshot in there.
Method 2: Using Win+Shift+S (Snip and Sketch)
Snip and Sketch is known as Snipping Tool in Windows 11.
- Press the Windows, Shift and S keys simultaneously. If done correctly, you will see something like this. You can click the buttons on the top to change the snipping mode. The modes are in this order: Rectangular Snip, Free-form Snip, Window Snip and Full Screen Snip. We will be using Rectangular Snip for this tutorial.
- Click and drag your mouse over what you want to screenshot. For example, to take a screenshot of the Discord logo, you would drag your mouse between these two points.
- After dragging your mouse over whatever you want to screenshot, a notification will pop up saying "Snip saved to clipboard". At this point, you can paste the screenshot into a document.
- If you want to save the screenshot to a file or draw on it, click on the notification to open the "Snip and Sketch" window. From there, you can start a new snip, draw on the image, save it to a file or copy it.
